Hallo, Viktor Derbuel war ein französischer Kriegsgefangener aus dem 1. Weltkrieg. Der nicht in seine Heimat zurückgekehrt ist. Er hat in Gera eine Fabrik gebaut und dort Präzisionswerkzeuge und Kompressoren hergestellt. Die Nazis haben dann die Fabrik beschlagnahmt, da er Jude war. Nur Dank seiner deutschen Frau kam er nicht in die Gaskammer, wurde aber ständig schikaniert und auch gefoltert. Nach der Befreiung sind Herr und Frau Derbuel nach Frankreich gezogen. Viktor Derbuel hat weiterhin Kompressoren gebaut, u.A. für Renault.
Worher ich dass alles weiß? Ich habe in den siebziger Jahren nach Viktor Derbuel recherchiert, da ich einen VD-Kompressor besitze. Mir war es möglich über einen ehemaligen VD-Mitarbeiter, Herr Heinz .... zu erfahren, dass Frau Derbuel in Nizza lebt. Er teilte mir auch mit, dass Frau Derbuel nicht mehr mit Deutschen spricht. Ein guter Bekannter von mir, ein belgischer Professor, konnte dann mit ihr sprechen...
Ich habe zu dem Kompressor noch eine VD-Rechnung und einen Prospekt.
Please excuse me for not writing in German. I did understand the text but have to say that there are a few mistakes and all is not the truth. My Grandfather did indeed meet my Grand mother in Berlin as he was a war prisoner from the first war, and established his factory in Gera. My Grandmother was Jewish, not my Grand father, he was French, and came from a very Catholic Family from Provence. With the help of some fabulous people who worked in the factory, my grand mother was saved from the concentration camps where she was sent, and only because of the workers and their families was she able to escape. Thanks to many of them who tirelessly during the night also helped her to recuperate the family's belonging taken by the Russians a few years later was she able to return to France where my Grandfather and my mother had escaped to. My Grandfather continued working on his Kompressor, and did sell some of his work but not to Renault, though he was very attached to Renault as he had chosen the Dauphine and the Floride as perfect cars to try out his Kompressors. He continued creating and improving his work and also build his new factory with a very modern outlook as he was the first one to create some Micro Precision tools. At his death in 1965, my Grand mother took his place and continued to manage the factory. As I said above, I do read German, and Speak it fairly well, but writing is really hard. Hallo Audree, mir ist die Geschichte Deiner Großeltern (ca.1977) von einem ehemaligen Mitarbeiter, Herr Heinz...?, der Firma VD erzählt worden. Der gute Mann war sehr krank und etwas verwirrt. So wie er mir erzählt hat, muß er Deinen Großeltern sehr nahe gestanden sein. Scheinbar hatten sie auch nach dem Krieg noch Kontakt zueinander. Beste Grüße
